   • Client: The individual or entity engaging Local Contractors for renovation services.
   • Contractor: The professionals or companies we connect you with to perform renovation or refurbishment work.
   • Services: The range of activities provided by Local Contractors, including contractor matching, project management, and post-completion support.
   • Agreement: This document and any other written agreements between you and Local Contractors.
   • Project: The specific renovation or refurbishment work agreed upon in the contract.

3. Scope of Services

   • Local Contractors provides a platform that connects you with thoroughly vetted contractors for your renovation projects. We also offer project management and quality assurance services to ensure that the work meets your expectations. However, we do not directly execute the renovation work unless explicitly agreed upon.

4. Client Responsibilities

   • You are responsible for providing accurate information about your project and making timely payments as per the agreed schedule. You must also cooperate with the contractors and project managers, ensure access to the site, and comply with all local regulations, including obtaining necessary permits.

5. Payment Terms

   • Payments are structured according to the milestones set out in your project plan. You will not be required to pay a deposit upfront. Instead, payments will be made in stages as the work progresses. Late payments may incur penalties as specified in your contract.

6. Project Timelines

   • Estimated timelines for project completion will be provided during the planning phase. While we strive to adhere to these timelines, unforeseen delays may occur. In such cases, we will communicate any changes promptly and work with you to adjust the schedule as necessary.

7. Modifications to the Project

   • Any changes to the project scope, budget, or timeline after work has commenced must be documented and approved by both parties. This ensures that all modifications are agreed upon and accounted for in the overall project plan.

8. Limitation of Liability

   • Local Contractors will not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific services provided, and we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control, such as natural disasters or supply chain disruptions.

9. Termination and Cancellation

   • Either party may terminate the agreement by providing written notice within the stipulated time frame. If the project is terminated prematurely, you will be required to pay for the work completed up to the termination date. Any materials or deposits already purchased may be forfeited or refunded depending on the terms of the contract.

10. Dispute Resolution

    • In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the issue through mediation. If mediation fails, the dispute may be escalated to arbitration or legal proceedings in the jurisdiction specified in the agreement.

11. Intellectual Property

    • Any designs, plans, or materials produced during the project are the intellectual property of Local Contractors or the respective contractor, unless otherwise specified. You may not use or distribute these materials without written permission.

12. Amendments to Terms

    • Local Contractors reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. You will be notified of any changes, and continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

    • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any legal disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction specified in the contract.
